At my core, I’m an awareness taking place in a world for whatever reason.
My is akin to me simply existing.
But my mind then goes to work consciously conceptualizing based on what I’m aware of.
And those concepts are always in service of my ego.
So is every attempt made to detach conceptualization from ego.
In practical terms: Everything I think, feel, want . . . and however I want life to be (even when those desires involve forsaking ego) . . . is my ego at work, ever serving itself.
Yet when I can return to simple awareness, my ego becomes quiet; then I’m able to watch it pretending to be still, and can see the rather sly look on its face.
